Happy Thursday Tipsters,
What a week for sport, the Socceroos bow out of the World Cup going down to Peru on Tuesday night, Tom Lynch (Crows) sign a 3 year contract extension and Jeremy Cameron gets 5 weeks!
I couldn’t believe I took Essendon to beat the Eagles in last week’s write up but I wasn’t brave enough to actually tip them D’OH!
Round 15 begins tonight and the bye rounds are well and truly over.. let’s have a look at part 1 of the tips this week.
Richmond v Sydney
Hmmmm will this Thursday night Blockbuster be a preview of this year’s Grand Final?? Cancel your plans tonight coz this game will be a ripper! For reasons unknown this game is being played at Etihad, Richmond have lost all away games this year (bar 1) whilst Sydney on the other hand have dominated their away games this year winning all of them. My money is on the Swans tonight.
Swans by 13pts
Western Bulldogs v Geelong
Bulldogs have been rubbish all season but showed a slight glimpse of hope against the Roo’s last week. The Doggies will have to try and stop the Patrick Dangerfield show Friday night, in their past 2 games he has racked up a combined total of 74 possessions and six goals. Geelong have to win if they want to try for a top 4 finish, should be a cake walk for them.
Cats by 37pts
Carlton v Port Adelaide
Kade Simpson plays his 300th game for Carlton on Saturday, now that’s loyalty! He will be hoping for a win unluckily for him though they face the Power. I am always hoping for a Port loss but I can’t see it coming this week.
Peeeaaaaaar by 30pts
Adelaide v West Coast
Adelaide are looking at snapping a 4 game losing streak whilst the Eagles will be wanting to shake off their past 2 losses. If the Crows are wanting to keep their season alive this is a must win game. Crows potentially will welcome back a handful of decent players and will come out the gates firing. Darren and I will be there cheering the boys on, and we will be sure to tell Jeremy McGovern how good he would look in blue, red and yellow.
Crows by 11pts
Gold Coast v Collingwood
I don’t think anyone predicted Collingwood would be making finals this year let alone potentially finishing top 4. The Pies are aiming for six wins in a row whilst the Suns are looking at making this their 9th loss in a row. The Suns have been goaless in at least one quarter in each of their past five second halves and in final quarters they're minus-220 points for the season. This should be a training drill for the Pies.
Pies by 34pts
Rug up Darren will see you tomorrow. Go Crows!
