It’s Easter long weekend and we have footy every day of the weekend once again, with what looks like a fairly interesting round with some classic clashes
Let’s see if we can pick some winners...
Adelaide v Richmond
Thursday night footy, sold out crowd at Adelaide Oval, Grand Final rematch, this has got to be one of the games of the round. There has been a lot of negative press around the Crows this week, but I think most Crows fans can relate to the horror of listening to the Tigers song loudly over and over and over .. if they stuck around long enough after the GF loss I know I did. Cotchin plays his 200th game a Brownlow medallist and Premiership captain, however the Crows will be on a mission to rain on that parade. See you at the game J

North Melbourne v St Kilda
Good Friday, a time for Hot Cross buns, chocolate and footy! North will be happy to play on solid ground this week instead of in a lake. Saints weren’t too impressive either only beating the Lions in the last 10-15 minutes of the last qtr. I don’t think a 6 day turnaround is long enough for North to win this one.
Saints by 18 pts
Carlton v Gold Coast
I’m not sure if Carlton played well last week or if Richmond expected an easy win, but it seems a few of their players know how to play the sport of AFL now and that is moderately impressive. Suns proved there was a reason why they dress like a bunch of surf life savers and it proved vital for them last week. Think the blues are surely more developed than the Suns so its Blues to win for me.
Blues by 7pts
Collingwood v Greater Western Sydney
I am going the upset here, the Pies have a a really good record agains the Giants, winning 4 out of their last 5. Collingwood always seem to pull out the goods and win when everyone thinks they are crap and will have a stinker.
Pies by 4pts
Brisbane v Melbourne
This game will be giving the Dee fans heart palpitations, what looks an easy win on paper, is never easy for Melbourne. It would be very Melbourne to lose this game, but I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt against a young Lions defense.
Dees by 27pts
Fremantle v Essendon
I am the first to say, I thought the Dockers might just be back in form this year. However, I retract that statement as they were simply horrible last week. Their delivery into the forward 50 was atrocious and I only watched 8 minutes of that game. Bombers came out firing against the Crows and took the 4 points. They looked pretty impressive and I see this game putting them sitting pretty on the top half of the ladder 2-0.

Western Bulldogs v West Coast
Speaking of autrocity how bad did the Giants make the dogs look last week! Bulldogs are the favourites here and surely that’s only because its being played in Melbourne? This is a bit of a flip of a coin game for me and i’m going to back the Eagles.
Eagles by 14pts
Sydney v Port Adelaide
This should be a great twilight Easter Sunday game. The Peeeear travel to the SCG to take on an actual AFL side this week and whilst Port did beat the Swans at home last year, it was during the trail period where Sydney were testing how many games they could lose in a row and still make finals. Buddy seems in fine form this year and with Port losing Ryder I think they might struggle.
Swans by 28pts
Geelong v Hawthorn
The Kennett curse is well and truly over, but it’s always a good game when these two teams play each other. After round 1 we had a combined 132 disposals from Ablett, Selwood and Mitchell. The tagger will certainly be played this week. It is still unknown if Dangerfield is back, perhaps he has a bit of stage fright that Gablett will over shadow him. Cats too good for Hawks who made a few errors last week and perhaps if they weren’t playing Collingwood they might have lost last week.
Cats by 19pts
I hope you all have a fantastic Easter and if you are going away please stay safe. See you on Tuesday.
