Round 13

So it is round 13, second week of the bye rounds and we are past the half way mark of the season.

This week we have 2 top 4 sides going head to head, 2 teams fighting to keep their finals hopes alive, 8th play 14th and another 2 games that no one cares about.. It all starts at Adelaide Oval tonight with Port and the Doggies..

Port Adelaide v Western Bulldogs

Port are coming off a big win against Richmond last week and Bulldogs are quite simply, Crap.. Last time they were at Adelaide Oval they scored 26 points against a SANFL team. Imagine what a full strength Port Adelaide outfit will do to them.. it pains me to say this… but Port to win and win big.

Sydney v West Coast

Finally a Friday night game to look forward to. This will be EPIC!!! At the beginning of this year you wouldn’t dream of seeing Swans lose 3 times at the SCG before round 13!  Eagles have won 10 straight and come off a bye round, Swans are fresh off a 71 point victory against the Saints. The Eagles will miss Darling but Kennedy will step up and kick 7. The Eagles haven’t beaten the Swans at the SCG since Round 9, 1999 and in their last five meetings it has been Syd/WC/Syd/WC/Syd so that pattern suggests it’s West Coasts turn to win :P .. Just writing this I have changed my mind who to choose as the winner at least 5 times.. Swans made Optus Oval their b*tch earlier this week and it’s time for the Eagles to pants them at the SCG

Eagles by 5pts

Carlton v Fremantle

Fremantle must have dropped the spirt stick on Football camp over the summer and they now have the ‘can’t win away from home’ curse the Eagles had. Fyfe returns from suspension but that is not enough to help his team beat Carlton. The Blues have looked like a real football team in patches this year and match against Freo at Etihad is just what they need.

Blues by 11pts

Gold Coast v St Kilda

I can’t wait to watch the Suns v Saints game Saturday arvo – said no one ever! Saints to win or bye bye Alan Richardson.

Saints by 20pts

Hawthorn v Adelaide

Ahh Hawthorn our old nemesis we meet again. Crows have been pretty ordinary this year I have to admit, it is driving me a bit crazy. After last week’s loss to Fremantle Alice  the last thing I want to see is a loss to the Hawks. Crows have only beaten Hawks once in their past 5 meetings (That was a special time for my family). If the Crows lose it will be the first time since 2011 that they lose 4 in a row. The hawks are looking good and Burgoyne plays his 350th game.  I don’t tip against them, positive thinking and all that so…

Crows by 14pts

Geelong v Richmond

This should be a cracker game to end the round on. Tigers come off a loss away to Port and Geelong come off a win to North down at the Cattery. For me a loss away for the Tigers has no influence on tipping this game. The Tiger’s win over the Cats in last year’s qualifying final was their first win over the cats since 2006, Cats had won 13 straight! I would love to see the Tigers go down but they have won the past 15 straight at the G and this game will make it number 16. Tigers by 20pts

We didn’t get a chance to send out the Round 12 Wrap, so a big Congratulations goes to rp1934 being the only tipper to pick 7 tips last week! Great tipping, please contact us to arrange pick up of your mini sherrin.

Have a great weekend and if you are in Adelaide stay warm and don’t forget your brolly. Raining  See ya Monday. Go Crows!
