Hey all you footy lovers,
It’s that time of the week again where Darren and I share our thoughts on the coming footy round. This weekend is going to be a beauty Sydney v Collingwood
Before round 1 this would have been a blockbuster game, as it is both teams are coming into the game with two losses in the bank. The spotlight is shining brightly on Buckley, I say give him another couple of years coaching the pies and let him get rid of his sea legs.. Big Bad Buddy plays his 250th game and he is going to run rampant over Pies
Swans by 32pts
North Melbourne v Greater Western Sydney
The roo’s showed a lot of character last week being up by 32 point on the Cats and then end up losing by a point.. OUCH! Whilst GWS were back to being the flag favourites as they went to town on a damaged gold coast. I think this game might be close until half time then GWS will run over them
Giants by 28pts
Richmond v West Coast
I am torn here who to pick, both teams are 2-0 but they both didn’t play a fantastic brand of footy last week.
Tiger fans are excited, they haven’t won the first 2 games of a season since 1997 (great year that) and what about Dusty? He is having a blinder.. Shall we just hand the brownlow over now?
The Eagles forward line has been outstanding and I think they just have the edge over the Tige’s .. Kennedy will kick 6 and lead the Eagles will take the win.
Eagles by 19pts
Geelong v Melbourne
Another 2 teams going in undefeated, before suspensions came into play I was all geared up to tip the Dees. However, I don’t think they can win this one without Hogan and Lewis, they might have to do a couple rounds in the ring this weekend instead. Can anyone tell me why this game is being played at Etihad?? The mind baffles. I think Dangerfield .. oh I mean Geelong will win this game easy.. Even with Geelong being distracted with rekindling their relationship with Ablett
Cats by 18pts
Port Adelaide v Adelaide
This game is going to be EPIC it’s the 20th anniversary, 1 versus 2, both teams in top form and the NOISE at Adelaide oval is going to be deafening. Too bad there will be a lot of crying happening when that final siren blows and the Mighty Adelaide Crows take home the 4 points.. gotta love a showdown!
Crows by 28pts
Fremantle v Western Bulldogs
I had a ray of hope that Fremantle would change this year, but after last week I promised myself I would never back again. But I can't help myself, always looking for an upset like I am, I again feel there may be an upset in the wind. Freo have gone all out this week dropping six players six big players. In fact they have just dropped 757 games and they put in 59 games with one of those players having played 50. So of course that means five of these players have only played nine games between them. So Mr Lyon is certainly taking this game serious. Then you add in the fact that freo have only one one game in the last 12 and you know what game it was that they won in that last 12? Yes it was actually Western Bulldogs last year at home could this happen again? Whilst I would so like to say yes, BUT...
Doggies 46 pts
St Kilda v Brisbane
Both saints and the roaring Lions have showed a bit of spunk this year and whilst we expected that from Saint Kilda we did not from Brisbane. Having the great win like they did in the first round and putting up a good fight against the bombers last week sees this game a very interesting one but it is the first time that Brisbane have to leave the windy and soggy state to come down to a cold Melbourne day. This is where the lions will roam and be lost.
Saints 41 pts
Carlton v Essendon
Carlton is is one of those size that I have never had any thought of them getting an upset. Not sure why I am so harsh on them maybe it's just because they are crap. The Bombers have started as if they were the Japanese at Pearl Harbor in 1945 sneaking in and dropping their artillery on first the mighty Hawks and then last week dropped another load on the Brisbane Lions. Now they are back home and they will give it to the navy Blues.
Bombers 46 pts
Gold Coast v Hawthorn
There will be a lot of interest in this game but not because both the sides are winless, But the interest will solely be on one Ma, Gary Ablett. There's been so much talk about his shocking game last week and mediocre game in the first round but after last nights interview the spotlight will just be on him. I don't think there has ever so much pressure on one man coming out and playing a good game than what will be for Gary tomorrow. Sadly it seems he is near the end of his tether.
Hawks 46 pts
Enjoy your weekend people and we will see you on Monday
