Round 10 Part 2
What a game of Footy last night! You do not see an umpire calling play on too many times on a set shot! If I had a dollar for every tweet or facebook status about how Port were robbed and the umpires cost them the game I would be RICH!
Round 10 marks indigenous round and I love the unique jumpers, what this round celebrates and the united stand against racism. Let’s have a look at how the round might unfold.
Sydney v Hawthorn
This would usually be a ripper Friday night game not to be missed however, that’s when both these teams were top of the table. This time it's 12th taking on 17th. Hawks gave up a 43 point lead last week to get beaten by the Pies (you can’t help but say that with a smile) whilst Swans have won their past 3 games and look like they are back on track to make finals.
Swans by 32pts
Western Bulldogs v St Kilda
The Doggies have looked nothing like the team that dominated last September, I just think no one has noticed as they’re all still a bit drunk from their premiership hangover. Saints got blown away last week when they expected Sydney from round 1-6 to rock up, they got a right old shock realising the good Sydney showed instead. Both teams are hard to beat at Etihad and this should be a highlight game of the round. The Saints have been in great form and I am tipping an upset here.
Saints by 7pts
Melbourne v Gold Coast
The Dee’s play another “home game” in the NT this week. Which has never really worked well for them, losing every game they play up there. The Suns have travelled to China and now they travel to Alice racking up more frequent flyer points than stats this year. No Ablett this week will make it harder for the Suns to bounce back from that horrendous loss to Port. I am tipping Melbourne to win this, I don’t really know why though…
Dees by 40pts
Richmond v Essendon
The centerpiece game of the round, ‘Dreamtime at the ‘G’ and what a game!! Essendon beat the Cats then come out and belt the Eagles, whilst Richmond have lost their last 4 games at the most critical moment. I think this game is pretty even, both teams can come up with the goods when they are ‘on’, Bombers seem to play better footy when they are the underdog and no pressure are on them. The spotlight is on Richmond as they slip down the ladder wanting desperately to get that 9th spot back on the ladder. Purely for the comic value I hope Tigers are up with a minute to go and the Bombers snatch the win again. That’s got to hurt ..
Bombers by 2pts
Adelaide v Fremantle
Saturday night footy at Adelaide Oval there is nothing better. 1st v 5th (WHOA when did the Dockers creep up to 5th on the ladder?! Where have I been?!?!?). The Crows still lacked in the 1st quarter last week but looked to be back to finding some form. Freo have won 4 out of the last 5 and have played pretty consistent 4 qtr footy thus far.
Crows are going to come out firing in those Indigenous themed boots and Eddie will kick a bag full and goal of the year… again.
Crows by 47pts
Collingwood v Brisbane
Heads –the inconsistent Pies
Tails – the inexperienced Lions
Heads it is
Pies by 30pts
Carlton v North Melbourne
No truer statement has been said about these two teams - “They are both good enough and bad enough to win or lose every game.” Other than their supporters no one else will be too fussed in watching this game.
Roos by 29pts
West Coast v Greater Western Sydney
Another home game for the Eagles this week, since they didn’t bother leaving Perth last week against the Bombers. GWS are injury ridden but that hasn’t stopped them coming from behind the past 2 weeks 2 and taking the win. I guess it helps when your back up players are all first round draft picks. GWS have only won once over in the West and the Eagles haven’t loss there all season. I think I might take another upset here..

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend and we would love to know who you think is the best Indigenous player the game has seen??
